Curriculum:
Primary (Ages 3-6)
The primary program presents the use of "materials for development," all of which are arranged in a carefully prepared environment. The materials for development include activities for practical life, refinement of the senses, language, and mathematics. Geography, history, physical science, and life science are introduced to the child through various language and manipulative activities. Movement, music, and art form part of the day-to-day activities.
Practical Life
These activities enhance the development of control movement, sequencing, and concentration through inviting and purposeful work.
Sensorial Materials
These manipulatives enable the child to order, classify, and describe sense experiences such as dimension, color, texture, sound, and sight.
Language
This area includes oral language development, written expression, reading, and elements of grammar and literature.
Mathematics
Mathematics makes use of materials to help the child gain an understanding of concepts of numbers, symbols, sequence, operations, and memorization of basic facts.
History
Early American History is introduced including the importance of the American Constitution.
Geography, Botany and Zoology
Music
Music and art are an integral part of the Montessori curriculum. Currently, children are introduced to the piano and are encouraged to practice daily.
Dancing and Movement class.
Our wonderful dance program is desiened in a manner that the children not only have a fun time but they also develop self confidence.
